Set against the turbulent era of the 1997 IMF financial crisis, tvN’s new Sat–Sun drama Typhoon Family premieres on Saturday, October 11 at 9:10 PM. The series follows rookie CEO Kang Tae-poong, who inherits a struggling trading company with no staff, no money, and nothing to sell, as he fights to protect and grow the business his father left behind.
Synopsis
Amid the economic upheaval of the IMF crisis that rocked South Korea, the drama tells a gritty, true-to-life story. Protagonist Kang Tae-poong (played by Lee Jun-ho, 이준호) becomes the head of Typhoon Trading after inheriting it from his father, only to face harsh reality—no funds, no employees, and no products. The series depicts his vibrant young working life and how, together with family and colleagues, he overcomes the company’s crises and grows along the way.
